(Challenge)
Halvard had thirty years of buildings and a letterhead from 1996. They were losing competitions to younger practices with half the work and twice the polish.
(Approach)
We photographed eleven buildings in hard daylight, set everything in one weight of one typeface, and built a grid from the proportions of their first house. The mark is the name, and nothing else.
(Outcome)
The new monograph went to forty juries. Halvard were shortlisted in three competitions within the year and won two of them.
